Coalition of Local Health Officials (CLHO)
The Oregon Coalition of Local Health Officials represents Oregon’s 32 Local Public Health Authorities to the Oregon Legislature and provides public health communications and workforce development support. CLHO advocates to the Oregon Legislature on behalf of the 32 Local Public Health Departments on public health funding and policy issues. CLHO legislative priorities for the 2021 session are funding Public Health Modernization, enacting a statewide tobacco retail license, and funding universally-offered home visiting. CLHO also produces a legislative toolkit and advocacy materials each long session for people wishing to engage in advocacy efforts. CLHO also provides communication and workforce development support to Oregon’s Local Public Health Authorities. This includes providing updates on public health news in our newsletter, developing communication materials, locating and hosting relevant training sessions, providing support for Public Health Accreditation, and hosting a Public Health Administrator Leadership Development Program.
